ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.TAMILVANAN,J) This writ petition has been filed as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), invoking Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking an order in the nature of writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to perform the cultural programme (i.e.) Dance Programme on 19.04.2015 in connection with Arulmigu Muppudathi Amman Temple Festival (Kodai Festival) Melur, Shenkottai Village, Thirunelveli District.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.According to the learned Special Government Pleader, there are two groups and there was a quarrel and manhandling between the parties that is why permission was not granted. 4.Merely because there are two groups in a village, their rights could not be denied by the authorities. 5.On the aforesaid circumstances, we direct the respondents to convene a meeting in the area and form a committee to conduct the festival in a peaceful manner without any discrimination among Hindus based on their caste and such an order shall be passed on or before 15.04.2015.
6.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
