O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Boothapandy, Kanyakumari District, to expedite the Trial Pending in C.C.No.42 of 2023. 2.The learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner submitted that after framing of charges, the trial Court had issued summons to L.W.1 to L.W.4 and posted the matter on 25.04.2024. However, till date, the respondent police did not serve the summons.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submits that in this case, trial is commenced, summons has been issued to the witnesses L.W.1 to L.W.3 and the case is posted on 18.07.2024.

4.This Court considered the rival submission made. 5.Since the accused himself seeks speedy trial, this Court directs the 2/4

trial Court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner has to file an undertaking affidavit before the trial Court stating that he is ready to co-operate with the trial, appear before the trial Court for all the future hearings without fail and that he will not seek any unnecessary adjournment.

5.With the above directions, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
