ORDER
The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to deliver the petitioner's registered original sale deed in Doc. No.3673 of 2024, dated 03.12.2024, pertaining to the house property comprised in R.S.No.36/2B situated at Pappanodai Village, Samanatham Subdivision, Madurai South Taluk and District, based on his representation dated 23.03.2025.
2. The petitioner registered a sale deed with respect to the above-mentioned property on 03.12.2024 at the office of the third respondent. The third respondent had assigned a number as Doc. No.3673 of 2024. The document was not returned after registration. Hence, the petitioner gave a representation on 23.03.2025. As the same was not considered, he has come forward with the present writ petition.

3. Mr.R.Sureshkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, took notice for the respondents and pleaded time to get instructions. Accordingly, the matter was adjourned.

When the matter is taken up for hearing today, Mr.R.Sureshkumar states that after registration of the document, while an attempt was made to scan the document for the purpose of maintaining an E-record, the first page of the document was irretrievably damaged. Hence, the respondents are not in a position to handover the original to the petitioner, as presented by him.
5. The solution for such a damaged document is that a certified copy of the first page can be given to the petitioner with an endorsement that the first page has been damaged and that this shall be treated as the original. In addition to the same, a certified copy of the entire document can be issued by the respondents, at their cost to the petitioner, certifying that the certified copy shall be treated as original.

6. In the light of the above direction, the writ petition is ordered. No costs.
