Respondents PRAYER:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to grant police protection in Arulmighu Sri Vinayagar Chathurthi Idol Procession to be celebrated on 14.09.2018 in Melathaniyam Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 14.08.2018. ORDER

This Wit Petition has been filed for a direction to the first respondent to grant police protection in Arulmighu Sri Vinayagar Chathurthi Idol Procession to be celebrated on 14.09.2018 in Melathaniyam Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 14.08.2018. 2.It is seen from the records that the petitioner has given a representation to the respondents seeking for permission to take the Vinayagar idol in procession on 14.09.2018 by suggesting a particular route. The first respondent had rejected the said representation by proceedings dated 08.09.2018. 3.Subsequently the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Illuppur Division, Pudukkottai District by his proceedings dated 10.09.2018 has permitted the petitioner to install the Vinayagar idol and to conduct the procession in the route that used to be followed during the earlier years and thereafter, they can be immersed in the pond. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the permission and the conditions imposed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Illupur Division shall be strictly complied with by the petitioner.

5.This Court directs the third respondent to grant permission and provide sufficient police protection for the idol procession to be taken on 14.09.2018 strictly in accordance with the permission granted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Illupur Division, dated 10.09.2018. The third respondent shall ensure that the entire procession is carried on in a peaceful manner and without any law and order problem. The petitioner is bound to comply with the conditions imposed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Illupur Division in his proceedings dated 10.09.2018. 6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
