ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to organize a meeting for the constitution of a fresh committee to conduct Jallikattu in Kirungakottai Village on the eve of Arulmigu Mei Ayannar Temple festival during Vaikasi in the Tamil month of every year and ensure participation of all community people and to avoid misappropriation of funds of the village people based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2024 within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2.Regarding conducting of the annual Temple festival at Arulmigu Mei Ayannar Temple at Kirungakottai Village, Sivagangai District, the petitioner being the villager of the said Village had given a representation on 15.04.2024 to the respondents 1 and 2 and his grievance is that without any law and order problem and by including all the 2/6

community people of the Village, the Temple festival to be conducted in a smooth manner, therefore, necessary steps to be taken by the revenue authorities ie., the Tahsildar concerned. Therefore, in order to consider his representation, dated 15.04.2024 and to pass necessary orders thereon, the petitioner has moved the present Writ Petition. 3.Mr.M.Mohanasundaram, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, having reiterated the aforestated, would seek the indulgence of this Court.

4.Heard Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents 1 and 2. In view of the order that is proposed to be passed in this Writ Petition, notice to the third respondent is hereby dispensed with.

5.The learned Government Pleader would submit that the representation, dated 15.04.2024 made to the respondents 1 and 2 would be considered and decided by the second respondent, who is the Executive Magistrate of the Taluk concerned and moreover, since Vaikasi festival, as alleged by the petitioner, would have been over as the month of Vaikasi 3/6

would come to an end by few days, therefore, insofar as the future conduction of the festival is concerned, what best can be done from the point of view of the law and order by the revenue Department would be considered and accordingly, the representation of the petitioner dated 15.04.2024 would be decided by the second respondent/Tahsildar within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court. 6.Recording the said submission made by the learned Government Pleader, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 15.04.2024 and pass necessary orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With this direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
