Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant professional qualification allowance (PQA) arrears from 01.11.2006 to 31.03.2011 to the petitioner and to grant arrears of privilege leave enhancement and gratuity by including PQA and further to add the PQA in the pension of the petitioner as well as to grant arrears of the pensionary benefits and difference amount in commutation of pension by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.01.2023 within a time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner retired as senior manager in the respondent bank. He retired on 31.03.2011. The bank introduced the scheme of paying pension only in the year 2019. According to the petitioner, since he had acquired certain qualifications, he should be paid what is known as professional qualification allowance. The petitioner has given representation on 26.01.2023 for paying arrears from 01.11.2006 to 2/4

31.03.2011. It is his further contention that this allowance should be included in the retirement benefits and there must be a revised fixation of his pension as well as disbursement.

3. The first respondent is directed to pass order on the petitioner's representation within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter.
