ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) The present Writ Petition is filed for a writ of mandamus seeking to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to grant an ordinary leave without escort for the period of 30 days to petitioner's father, who is life convict prisoner in C.P.No.2282 at Palayamkottai Central Prison, Tirunelveli by considering petitioner's representation, dated 22.04.2024.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's father is a life convict in C.P.No.2282. The petitioner's father has already obtained several leave on several occasions in different period of time with escort and he safely return back to prison without making/involving into any tarnished
activity. Now, his father presence is very much necessary to make arrangements of the petitioner's sister's alliance and her engagement. Many of the groom families asking where about their father and his personal details. So in order to settle out his sister's marriage life and complete her alliance, his father's presence is necessary. Hence, he has given a representation dated 22.04.2024 to the respondents seeking ordinary leave without escort for a period of 30 days. Since the respondents have not passed any orders on the representation of the petitioner, he has filed the present writ petition.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner, dated 22.04.2024 will be considered and suitable orders will be passed within a period of two weeks.
4. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, without going into the merits of the matter, we direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 22.04.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a
period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. (A.D.J.C.,J.)
