Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the first respondent and Mr.O.R.Gokul Abimanyu, learned counsel representing Mr.C.Arul Vadivel Associates, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondents 2 & 3.

2. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

3. Heard Mr.T.Aswin Raja Simman, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for

the first respondent and Mr.O.R.Gokul Abimanyu, learned counsel, representing Mr.C.Arul Vadivel, learned counsel, for the respondents 2 & 3.

4. The petitioner herein, who was appointed as Assistant Professor in the respondent - University on 15.10.2007, claims to have submitted a request for change of her date of birth from 29.06.1966 to 08.08.1968 within a period of five years from the date of her appointment i.e., on 02.02.2012. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the said request was forwarded to the first respondent calling for a report. However, the first respondent sought for a clarification from the respondent - University as to whether the request of the petitioner is within the period of five years from the date of her appointment or not. The said issue was also clarified by the respondent - University through letter dated 31.10.2025.

However, according to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the first respondent has not taken any further action thereafter and the matter is now pending before the first respondent. As the petitioner is already aged about 57 years and is nearing the age of superannuation, the petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking appropriate direction to the first respondent to expedite the enquiry proceedings and to submit a report to the respondent - University at the earliest.

5. It is not in dispute that the matter is now pending before the first respondent for conducting enquiry and submission of a necessary report to the respondent - University.

6.

Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, submitted that the first respondent would submit his report to the respondent - University within a period of eight weeks.

7. Considering the above, this writ petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to submit his report to the respondent - University as expeditiously as possible at any rate within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such submission of the report by the first respondent, the respondent - University shall take further steps in accordance with law within a further period of eight weeks.
