ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Clause 6(2)(3) of T.N.S.C.(R.D.C.S.) Order 1982 r/w 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in Crime No.130 of 2018, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is aged about 61 years and that therefore this Court should adopt an indulgent approach. But as already pointed out by the learned Government counsel, the petitioner is having previous cases to his credit. Smuggling of P.D.S. Rice cannot be viewed leniently. In this case, as per the confession statement given by the driver of the vehicle, the P.D.S. rice was seized. Based on the confession, the petitioner has been implicated.

3. Taking note of the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to allow this petition. Therefore, the Criminal Original petition is dismissed.
