The petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue patta to the petitioner based on his representation, dated 03.02.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has purchased the subject land from the legal heirs of the original assignee one P.Perumal in and by registered sale deed, dated 06.04.2011 vide Document No. 1454 of 2011. The petitioner has further contended that the property is assessed to tax as well as electricity service connection and the petitioner is promptly paying the same. The petitioner has sought for issuance of patta and in that regard, he has also given a representation to the 1st respondent on 03.02.2025.
4. Considering the fact that the Tahsildar is the competent authority to look into the application of the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the Tahsildar and if necessary, also make an online 2/4
application for issuance of patta within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The Tashildar shall thereafter conduct due enquiry and pass orders on merits subject to the entitlement of the petitioner for patta, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of representation / online application to be filed by the petitioner.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
