ORDER

The petitioner is a life convict. He has been given parole for three days till 11.04.2015. Now, he seeks extension of time on the ground that his wife requires to undergo a urgent surgical procedure.

2. The learned Public Prosecutor submitted that as per Rules the petitioner is not entitled to parole.

3. It is seen that the petitioner was given parole earlier. He also complied with the conditions imposed. Though the relevant rules says that a person should have obtained permission from the Government on or before 11.04.2015 and it is only the Government is competent, taking note of the already given parole and the urgent necessity of his presence with respect to the surgery of his wife, this Court is inclined to grant further period of seven days. Accordingly, the 1st respondent herein is directed to release the said Pandi (LCT No.5201), on parole, on 11.04.2015 onwards on condition that the said Pandi (LCT No.5201), shall report back to the first respondent, the Superintendent of Central Prison, Central Prison, Madurai, by 4.00 p.m. on 18.04.2015. During parole, the convict prisoner shall abide all the conditions prescribed in the Jail Manual.
