Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General assisted by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent.
2.The petitioner is an aspirant for the post of Police Constable Grade II. He seeks consideration under the sports quota. The petitioner is a Kick-boxer. It is not one of the sports recognized for concessional treatment in the notification issued by the respondent. Paragraph No.6 of the counter affidavit filed by the respondent is as follows:- "6.It is submitted that for claiming sports quota, a list of 16 games and sports had been approved vide G.O.Ms.No.626 Home (Pol.III) department dated 23.07.2003, G.O.Ms.No.756 Home (Pol.III) department dated 10.11.2016 and G.O.(Ms)No.46, Youth Welfare and Sports Development (S1) Department, dated 29.10.2021. The list of above approved 16 games and sports had been given in para 7m(iii) of the Information Brochure and is given hereunder:

2. Foot Ball 10.
Judo
3. Volley Ball 11.
Weight Lifting (men & woman)
4. Basket Ball 12.
Aquatics (swimming)
5. Hand Ball 13.
Athletic (men & woman)

7. Wrestling (both free style & Greco Roman Style) 15.
Rifle Shooting
8. Boxing 16.
Silambam 3.Since the sports in which the petitioner had attained distinction is not coming under any of the aforesaid 16 categories, it is not possible for this Court to grant relief. The writ petition stands dismissed.
