Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct "INNISAI" cultural program for one day on 29.05.2022 at about 6 pm to 11.30 pm at back side of Arulmighu Shri Maga Mariamman Temple, Keela Street at Keela Valadi Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy and pleased to provide adequate police protection.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct "INNISAI" cultural program on 29.05.2022 at about 6 p.m. to 11.30 pm at back side of Arulmighu Shri Maga Mariamman Temple, Keela Street at Keela Valadi Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy and to provide adequate police protection.

2.Heard learned counsel on either side.

3.The petitioner has sent a representation in person on 17.05.2022 itself and the Sub-Inspector of Police, Lalgudi Police Station,Trichy District, has also admitted that they have received the representation on 19.05.2022, on record, as on date, the respondents police have neither rejected the claim of the petitioner nor permitted the same. W.P.(MD) No.10411 of 2022 this Court for getting a positive order. Therefore, this attitude of the respondents police is highly condemnable. 4.Under these circumstances, the third respondent police is directed to grant permission to the petitioner with reasonable restrictions to conduct the cultural programme as sought for in this writ petition. In case of any necessity, the third respondent police is directed to send two policemen on the date of events during the cultural programme scheduled to be held on 29.05.2022 for monitoring the same.

5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
