Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct Adal Padal, Amman Dance Cultural Programme on 26.05.2022 evening 07.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m at Thayanur Village, Arulmigu Sri Kunjayee, Sri Malaiyali Swami Temple Festival, Sri Rangam Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District to provide permission and adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representation, dated 16.05.2022 and dispose of the same on merits. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct Adal Padal, Amman Dance Cultural Programme on 26.05.2022 evening 07.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m at Thayanur Village, Arulmigu Sri Kunjayee, Sri Malaiyali Swami Temple Festival, Sri Rangam Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 16.05.2022.

2.Heard the learned counsel on either side.

W.P.(MD) No.10440 of 2022 3.Though the petitioner has sent a representation on 16.05.2022, sofar the respondent police have not given any response to the said representation. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) would submit that though the festival has already been started, sofar no problem has been arised. However, the cultural programme is scheduled to be held on 26.05.2022, sofar, the respondent police has not given any specific permission. 4.Under these circumstances, the respondent police are directed to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct cultural programme scheduled to be held on 26.05.2022 from 07.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m, in a peaceful manner and by giving reasonable restrictions. If it is necessary, the third respondent is directed to monitor the cultural programme.

5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
