O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Senior Assistant Engineer of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking disbursement of surrender leave salary for 135 days in respect of the years 2011 to 2023 together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable from the date for retirement to till the date of actual payment.

Though the petitioner has retired on 31.05.2023, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representations to the respondents on 29.01.2024 and 25.03.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to release the surrender leave salary upon the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
