This writ petition has been filed challenging the proceedings passed by the 4th respondent in Na.Ka.No.P3/239/2025 dated 12.03.2026 and seeking consequential direction to the 3rd respondent to reinstate the petitioner at Koothalur Panchayat.
2. Heard learned Counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. This matter came up for consideration before this Court on 08.04.2026. After hearing the counsel for the petitioner, this Court noted that the impugned order placed the petitioner under suspension without contemplating any further enquiry. Accordingly, this Court directed the 2/4
learned Government Advocate to obtain specific instructions on this aspect.
4. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Advocate General fairly submitted that the impugned order of suspension does not refer to any contemplated disciplinary proceedings and is in the nature of punishment by itself and therefore, the same is not in accordance with law. He accordingly requested that the matter be remanded back to the respondents for fresh consideration.
5. Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Advocate General, the impugned order dated 12.03.2026 is hereby quashed, leaving it open to the respondents to take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 10.04.2026 NCC:yes/no Index:yes/no Internet:yes/no gvn 3/4
