Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, in the nature of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 herein to approve forthwith the appointment of petitioner as Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry in the fourth respondent College namely, Fatima College (Autonomous), Madurai w.e.f.20.06.2001 and to disburse the grant-

in-aid towards her salary with all attendant benefits along with the arrears of salary by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner lastly on 26.11.2024.

Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

2. The petitioner is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry in the fourth respondent College. She was appointed in the fourth respondent College as Lecturer with effect from 20.06.2001 forenoon. The third respondent issued proceedings, dated 29.05.2008 approving the appointment of the petitioner as Lecturer with effect from 24.08.2007 forenoon instead of approving from 20.06.2001 forenoon. Aggrieved by the said order, the petitioner approached the respondents and submitted several representations requesting to approve the appointment with effect from 20.06.2001. Finally, the petitioner submitted a reminder on 26.11.2024. But there was no response from the respondents 2 and 3. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition is filed.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, in the considered opinion of this Court, it is appropriate and reasonable to dispose of this writ petition at the admission stage with the consent of both sides without going into the merits of the case by issuing a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to meet the ends of justice.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with the following direction:

The respondents 2 and 3 are directed to consider the representations of the petitioner submitted from 11.02.2009 to 26.11.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
