JUDGMENT
(By G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard both sides.
2.Vide proceedings dated 19.01.2015, the District Collector, Dindigul cancelled the appointment of one Chelladurai as Panchayat Secretary. Interestingly, Chelladurai did not file any writ petition impugning the said proceedings. Instead, the said Pandiammal, the President of the local body filed W.P(MD)No.990 of 2015. Pandiammal had made the appointment. But Chelladurai as the aggrieved individual alone could have filed the writ petition assailing the order of the cancellation. That apart, the period of Pandiammal as Panchayat President had expired long ago. Without noticing the same, the learned single Judge allowed the Writ Petition on 26.06.2023. 3.Aggrieved by the same, the District Collector has filed this Writ Appeal. The writ petitioner Pandiammal clearly did not have any locus standi to maintain the writ petition. In any event, since her tenure had long since expired, she cannot be permitted to pursue the matter. The order of the learned single Judge is set aside.
