Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to forthwith process and release the pending arrears bill amounting to Rs.2,30,542/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Thirty Thousand Five Hundred and Forty Two only) in respect of the work namely Construction of Cremation Shed, CC Road, Compound Wall and Hand Pump to the Samathuva Mayanam at Soolaipatty in TMR Samuthiram 1/4
Panchayat (AGAMT-II 2023-2024), based on the Work Completion Certificate issued by the 4th Respondent in Na.Ka.No.T3/2577/2024 dated 24.03.2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Mr.S.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents 1 to 3. Mr.M.Senthil Ayyanar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for R4.
2. The petitioner was entrusted with the civil work by the 4th respondent and claims to have completed the work satisfactorily. The petitioner was entitled for a total sum of Rs.9,30,729/-. Towards the completion of work, the 4th respondent releases a sum of Rs.7,00,187/- out of which Rs.6,18,786/- has been paid and as on today Rs.2,30,542/- is still due to be paid.

3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that the balance amount will be paid within the time to be stipulated by this Court.
4.The said submission of the learned Government Advocate is taken on record.
5. The fourth respondent is directed to pay the balance amount of Rs.2,30,542/-(Rupees Two lakhs thirty thousand five hundred and forty two only) within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, failing which, the petitioner will be entitled to 6% per annum on the said amount from expiry of the four months period.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No Costs.
