ORDER

This contempt petition is filed complaining willful disobedience of the order dated 21.01.2025 made in WP(MD)No. 4559 of 2023.

2.It can be seen that the writ petition was disposed of with the following order:

"3.Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the Writ Petition, the third respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the representation submitted by the petitioner, dated 24.01.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.It is made clear that the third respondent is directed not to grant any permission to erect the petitioner's union board in the locality and the third respondent can permit to erect the Nagar or Street of

the name board."

3.When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the Official respondents would submit that in compliance of the order, an enquiry was conducted and finally it was suggested that the name Board will be kept as 'Kurinji Nagar' neutrally between the parties. When such an order was passed, a third party by name K.Rajendran has challenged the same by WP(MD)No.34435 of 2025 and an interim order dated 27.11.2025 is also passed. It can be seen that the petitioner in the contempt petition is also arrayed as 6th respondent in the said writ petition. Therefore, since the respondents have taken steps to comply with the order, recording compliance and further keeping open liberty of the petitioner to contest the matter in WP(MD)No.34435 of 2025, the contempt petition stands closed.
