W.P.Crl.(MD)No.1874 of 2026 is filed seeking to direct the 3rd respondent to provide adequate police protection for Sri Andi-Andichiamman Temple Function on 04.04.2026, 05.04.2026 and on the day of Kumbabishekam Scheduled on 06.04.2026 pursuant to the proceedings of the 1st respondent in K.K.M4/699-15/2026 dated 21.03.2026.

The learned Government Advocate(Criminal) submitted that already grave rivalry prevails between the groups of either petitioners in both the writ petitions and First Information Report in Crime No.82 of 2026 was registered on 31.03.2026 against 13 persons, out of 6 persons were arrested and 7 persons were absconded.
4. The learned counsels for the both the petitioners submitted that they will cooperate with each other in peacefully conducting the Kumbhabashekham on 06.04.2026.
5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the prevailing rivalry between both the parties, the petitioner in W.P.Crl.(MD)No.1874 of 2026 is permitted to organise and conduct Kumbhabishekham as scheduled on 06.04.2026. It is made clear that the petitioner in W.P.Crl.(MD)No.1840 of 2026 and his group will be permitted to worship and participate in the function only between 04.00 p.m to 06.00 p.m on 06.04.2026. The 3rd respondent police is directed to provide adequate police 4/6
protection for the said function on payment of necessary charges by the writ petitioner in W.P.Crl.(MD)No.1874 of 2026 in terms of G.O(Ms)No.139, Home (Pol-VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019.
7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 02.04.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No gbg Note: Issue order copy on 02.04.2026.
