O R D E R

The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct Theertha Kudam Kavadi and Virtual Programs in Chithirai Festival at Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Kovil, Vallakundapuram, Kothaiam Village, Ottanchathiram Taluk, Dindigul District, dated 21.04.2023 to 25.04.2023, based on the petitioner's application dated 13.04.2023.

2. Mr. B.Nambiselvan, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that festival for the temple, by name, "Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Kovil, Vallakundapuram, Kothaiam Village, Ottanchathiram Taluk, Dindigul District", is going to be held on 21.04.2023 to 25.04.2023. 2/4

Subsequent to the same, in order to conduct a cultural programme on 21.04.2023 to 25.04.2023, they sought permission of the Police by giving a representation dated 13.04.2023. But, the third respondent has not considered the said representation. Since no order was passed, the writ petitioner has come before this Court for the above said relief.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents would submit even though the programs are scheduled to be conducted for five days, it may be restricted.

5. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), the restriction may be imposed by the competent authority upon the petitioner with regard to the days of programs. The above said competent authority shall be disposed of the above said representation given by the petitioner dated 13.04.2023 immediately.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
