PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to take necessary action against the respondents 4 and 5 for misappropriation of panchayat's fund, abuse of powers, violation of rules and regulation, negligent and failure to perform their duties under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 on the basis of the representation given by the Petitioner, dated 4.4.2025.

DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN., J AND R.POORNIMA.,J The Petitioner herein, after making representation on 4.4.2025, alleging misappropriation of local body fund, is before this Court by way of Public Interest Litigation to issue a Writ of Mandamus to probe into the allegations.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3.This Court finds that the Petitioner after sending a representation on 4.4.2025 through registered post, filed the present Public Interest Litigation on 8.4.2025.The very averments in the Petition clearly indicates that this is not a Public Interest Litigation, but, for some publicity. Hence, on that score, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, the official respondents are directed to probe into the matter as referred to in the representation submitted by the Petitioner and act in accordance with law.
