This writ petition has been filed seeking for police protection on the ground that the petitioner was granted license by the proceedings of the District Collector dated 22.03.2018 to do gravel quarry at Keeranur Village in survey No.154/1 and certain persons belonging to the village are threatening and preventing the petitioner from doing quarrying activity and are demanding mamool from the petitioner.
2.The petitioner has made a representation to the respondent on 24.07.2018 in this regard. The petitioner has been permitted to do gravel quarry by the District Collector, Madurai for a period of one year from 21.03.2018 to 20.03.2019. If the petitioner is prevented from carrying on quarrying activity, inspite of having a valid license, he will be put to great prejudice.
3.Considering the facts and circumstances, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to provide Police protection to the petitioner and his quarry operation till 20.03.2019. It is made https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
clear that the petitioner shall pay all the costs in connection with providing for police protection by the 3rd respondent police.
4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
