ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to conduct enquiry on the application submitted by the petitioner under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he had executed a settlement deed in favour of his son, who is the 7th respondent herein. According to the petitioner, the 7th respondent failed to maintain the petitioner and the petitioner was left in lurch. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation/application before the respondents under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 6.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner on 26.04.2021 and deal with the same strictly in accordance with the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, after affording an opportunity to the 7th respondent and final orders shall be passed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
