[Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J.] The prayer in the Habeas Corpus Petition is to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the Petitioner's daughter, the detenue herein, namely, T.Durga Devi, daughter of Thanamani, minor, aged about 17 years before this Court and hand over the custody to the Petitioner.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the detenue was produced by the second respondent and she appeared https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
H.C.P.(MD) No.955 of 2021 before this Court along with her mother, the Petitioner herein through video-conferencing from the Public Prosecutor's Office. Though initially the detenue was not willing to go with her mother and she wanted to stay at Home, after giving assurance by the Petitioner that she would not make any coercive steps for the marriage of the detenue till she attains majority, the detenue is willing to go with her mother. It is now stated that she is studying in 10th standard and interested in pursuing her studies. 4.In the light of the above statement, we are of the opinion that nothing survives for consideration in this Habeas Corpus Petition and accordingly, the same stands closed.
