Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court To issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to cancel the illegal patta and to give the police protection to the petitioners family and property on the basis of the petitioners representation dated 05.10.2015 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Honble Court. ORDER

This Contempt Petition is filed complaining non-compliance of the order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.18747 of 2015 dated 18.06.2019.

2. This Court, while disposing the writ petition in W.P.(MD) No.18747 of 2015 on 18.06.2019, passed the following order: "5. Considering the said submission, this writ petition is disposed of with the following direction: "There shall be a direction to the first respondent District Collector to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.10.2015 and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of being heard to both the petitioner as well as the fourth respondent and pass orders thereon within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order." No costs."

3. Today, when the matter is called, there is no representation for the petitioner.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that pursuant to the order of this Court, a notice was issued to both parties on 17.03.2022 and an order was also passed by the District Collector, Tirunelveli, in Na.Ka.G1/26313/2019, dated 07.04.2022, rejecting the request made by the petitioner.

5. Recording the same, the Contempt Petition is closed. No costs.
