ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to provide adequate Armed Police Personnel for protection of petitioner's life and limb, based on his representation dated 26.06.2018.
2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing on either side and perused the documents placed on record.
3. According to the petitioner, his father and thereafter, the petitioner are involved in Vegetarian Hotel Business in Thanjavur. Due to some land dispute, his father was murdered by some local land mafia and in this regard, Crime No.175 of 2014 was filed before the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital Police Station, under Sections 147, 148 and 302 IPC, which, according to the petitioner, is pending for trial.

It is the further grievance of the petitioner that when he started to carry out the renovation work in his Hotels, he received some anonymous calls and letters raising serious life threat and in this regard, a case has been registered in Crime No.188 of 2018, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
before the Thanjavur West Police Station, under Sections 506(ii) and 507 IPC. Since the petitioner and his family are under serious life threat, he has made a representation dated 26.06.2018, to the respondents seeking police protection and alleging that the same is kept pending, without any action, the petitioner is before this Court for the aforesaid prayer.
5. When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied, if the said representation, dated 26.06.2018, is disposed of by the third respondent, on merits and in accordance with law, within a stipulated time limit.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case as well as the submission made by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.06.2018 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the parties, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Needless to say that the petitioner has to enclose a copy of the said representation along with a copy of this order to the third respondent forthwith.
