This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Eraniel, Kanyakumari District, to dispose of the case in C.C.No.141 of 2023 as expeditiously as possible. 2.According to the petitioner, based on the complaint lodged by the second respondent, an FIR in Crime No.116 of 2015 was registered for the offence under Section 387 of IPC. After completion of investigation, the respondent police filed final report before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Eraniel, Kanyakumari District and the same was taken cognizance in C.C.No.141 of 2023. But the case is still pending without any progress. Hence this petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that now the case is posted for serving summons to the accused.

4.Considering the prayer sought for in this petitioner and also considering that the case is pending from the year 2015, this Court is 2/4

inclined to pass order without issuing notice to the second respondent. 5.In view of the above, the trial Court is directed to expedite the trial proceedings in C.C.No.141 of 2023 and dispose of the same, as early as possible without granting long adjournment beyond one week. 6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
