ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner for a direction to rectify the petitioner's date of birth as 31.07.1984 instead of 07.10.1984 and her father's name as Mariyasingam instead of Mariasingarayar.

2.The petitioner's date of birth was given as 31.07.1984 at the time of School admission. It was followed till today and found her date of birth as 31.07.1984 in all her certificates including Aadhar Card, PAN card and passport. However, her birth certificate shows that the petitioner was born on 07.10.1984. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the respondent to correct her date of birth in the birth certificate. 3.First of all, the respondent is not a competent authority to correct any birth certificate. The respondent is only a Village Administrative Officer.

4.On perusal of the birth certificate would reveal that the birth certificate got registered on 07.10.1984 itself from the information received either from the petitioner's parents or from the hospital authorities. In order to admit the petitioner in the School, 2/4

her date of birth was wrongly given as 31.07.1984 and got admission in the School, since cut off date to get admission in the School is 31st July. Her date of birth was rightly registered on the date of her birth itself as 07.10.1984. Therefore, the request of the petitioner to correct her date of birth cannot be possible. Insofar as the change of correction in the petitioner's father's name is concerned, the petitioner failed to produce any record to show that her father's name is Mariyasingam. In view of the above, the Writ Petition itself is devoid of merits and the same is liable to be dismissed.

5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
