ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.29 of 2023 dated 25.07.2023 and to file the final report within a stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court. 1/4

2. According to the petitioner, she is the defacto complainant in this case, based on her complaint, case in Crime No.29 of 2023 was registered on the file of the respondent. Without conducting proper investigation, case is still pending. Therefore, she filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submits that initially, the case was registered by the respondent and thereafter, case was transferred to CBCID and the same is under investigation. In the meantime, one of the accused in this case filed anticipatory application and the same is pending before this Court and the entire CD files are submitted before this Court. Therefore, they will complete the enquiry within six months.

4. Considering the prayer sought for in this petition and the case is also under investigation before the CBCID, this Court accepting the reason stated by the learned Government Advocate directs the CBCID, Thoothukudi, to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.29 of 2023 as early as possible, preferably within six months from the date of receipt of CD file.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
