O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct cultural events on 29.04.2025 at Sri Alagu Parvathi Amman Temple, Surandai, Veeralakeralamputhur Taluk, Tirunelveli District and to give police protection during the festival sessions by considering the petitioner's representation dated. 04.04.2025.
2.According to the petitioner, the villagers decided to conduct festival for the said temple and also they decided to conduct cultural 2/5
events on 29.04.2025 and they have approached the third respondent for grant of permission and for police protection, through the representation dated 04.04.2025, but the same has not been considered and till date, no order has been passed. Hence this petition.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner's representation is under consideration and the same will be considered and they will provide adequate police protection, in accordance with law. 4.Considering the prayer sought for in this petition and the respondent police have no any objection to grant police protection for the temple festival and cultural events, which is scheduled to be held on 29.04.2025 and since the representation is pending from 04.04.2025, it is deemed to be permitted.
5.Therefore, recording the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the third respondent to provide police protection for the temple festival and cultural events, which is scheduled to be held on 29.04.2025, in accordance with law. 3/5
