Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

Though the petitioner has sought for issuance of writ of mandamus to dirct the 1st respondent to cancel the patta in the name of third party Srinivasan in respect of Survey No.199/2C Agnivayal Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukkottai District and to consequently issue patta to the petitioner, considering that the competent authority is the 2nd respondent, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent to conduct enquiry after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as Srinivasan, in whose name patta no.230 presently standing. After conducting enquiry and giving due opportunity to the parties, the 2nd respondent shall pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

3. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
