Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the respondents 1 & 2 to secure the petitioner's daughter namely Mouna Priya, D/o.Ravi Kumar, aged 20 years and produce her body or corpus before this Court and set him at liberty forthwith.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the father of the detenu seeking to produce the person or body of the petitioner's daughter, aged about 20 years, before this court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is mason by profession and his daughter Mouna Priya, aged about 20 years is studying B.A., Literature in Thiraviyam College, Periyakulam and staying in a hostel and he was informed that his daughter had gone to college on 03.02.2024 did not return to hostel and since the whereabouts of her daughter was not known he preferred compliant before the second respondent on 25.02.2024. Despite registration of case in Crime No.82 of 2024 for women missing, no other action has been taken by the respondent police, hence he has filed the present petition.

3. When the matter was listed on 30.04.2024, it was reported by the police that the preliminary enquiry reveals that the daughter of the petitioner was having love affair with one Arun Kumar, son of Sekar, aged about 26 years, who is the diploma graduate, working at Kancheepuram and that the respondent police are taking steps to find out the whereabouts of the detenu.

4. Today, the respondent police has produced the detenu before this Court.

5. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the respondent police has traced the detenu and the Arun Kumar at Kancheepuram and on information they came to know that both of them have got married.

6. We enquired the Mouna Priya. She submitted that she is studying first year B.A.Literature and she fell in love with one Arun Kumar, who is a diploma holder. She got married to him and living with him and she is not under the illegal detention of anybody.

7. Recording the submission of the detenu, this habeas corpus petition is closed.
