ORDER

The petitioner seeks a Writ of Mandamus for the return of her son's original certificates from the second respondent School. The reason put forth is that she has yet to submit the same to her son's present college.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties.

3. It is a settled position of law that certificates of a student cannot be withheld due to arrears of fees, as the educational institution holds no lien over such certificates. Therefore, a Mandamus is issued to the second respondent to return all the original certificates of the petitioner's son to the petitioner. However, liberty is granted to the second respondent to take necessary measures to recover any outstanding dues, in accordance with law.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
