This criminal original petition has been filed seeking speedy trial in S.C.No.137 of 2020, pending on the file of the Subordinate Court, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi District.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the FIR was registered in the year 2018, for which, the final report was filed in the year 2019 and after committal proceedings, the case has been taken cognizance by the trial Court in S.C.No.137 of 2020. The case is now posted for trial on 03.09.2024, for the examination of witnesses L.W.1 to L.W.3.

3.Since the trial has been commenced and summons have also been issued to the witnesses for their appearance before the trial Court on 03.09.2024, this criminal original petition is closed with a direction to the Sub Court/Assistant Sessions Court, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi, to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible.
