O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second to fourth respondents to measure the petitioner's assigned land, fix the four boundaries and issue patta in the petitioner's name based on the representation dated 18.04.2022.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the Authorised Officer (L.Ref.), Dindigul-1, vide order dated 31.07.1976 bearing reference Roc.No.MR.IV/12D/Dgl., assigned the surplus land comprised in Survey No.336, measuring an extent of 2 Acres and 48 Cents, to the petitioner's grandfather on the basis of "actual possession" under Serial No.10. The petitioner inherited the said property from his father and along with his mother is in possession and enjoyment of the same.

3. As per the order of the Assistant Commissioner (Land Reforms), Madurai, the petitioner and his mother paid the necessary amount assessed Page No. 2 of 5

for the land. Thereafter, the petitioner has been cultivating the land for several years. The adjacent lands belonging to the petitioner were measured and patta was granted to the adjacent landowners, whereas the petitioner's land was not measured and patta has not been granted.

4. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 18.04.2025 to the respondents. Till date, no action has been taken by the respondents. Hence, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 18.04.2022 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of twelve weeks.

6. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second to fourth respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.04.2022 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered Page No. 3 of 5

and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second to fourth respondents are also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by the decision. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
