Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to reimburse the medical claim of Rs.3,57,462/- as per the representation dated 26.12.2020 together with interest at the rate of 7.5% p.a. thereon to the petitioner covered by the medical records and medical bills within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court. Heard Mr.K.Appadurai, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.J.Ashok, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1, 3 to 6 and Mr.A.Shajahan, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent.
2. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to reimburse the medical claim of Rs.3,57,462/- as per the representation dated 26.12.2020 together with interest at the rate of 7.5% p.a. thereon to him. 2/6

The petitioner herein, who is a pensioner, had given a representation dated 26.12.2020 to the sixth respondent for medical reimbursement of Rs.3,57,462/- for the treatment taken by him for Covid-19 and the same has been returned requesting the petitioner to make his claim before the District Level Empowering Committee. Hence, the petitioner has sent another representation to the sixth respondent on 13.12.2021, who in turn forwarded the same to the District Level Empowering Committee and in pursuance of the recommendation of the District Level Empowering Committee on 07.03.2022, the medical reimbursement claim of the petitioner is placed before the second respondent. However, till date no orders have been passed. Hence, the writ petition.
4. Since the file with regard to the medical reimbursement claim of the petitioner is pending before the second respondent in pursuance of the recommendation made by the District Level Empowering Committee, it would suffice if a direction is given to the second respondent to pass 3/6
orders on the reimbursement claim of the petitioner within a specified time.
5. In view of the above observations, the writ petition is disposed of and the second respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the medical reimbursement claim of the petitioner on the basis of the recommendation of the District Level Empowering Committee and in accordance with the Scheme, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
