Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner wants this Court to direct the second respondent to sponsor his name for any suitable post. The petitioner is aged about 55 years. He got himself enrolled way back in the year 1985. I fail to understand as to what the petitioner was doing all these years. In any event, the very concept of employment exchange has become redundant these days. Any eligible candidate can apply for public employment, if there are vacancies. Nothing stopped the petitioner from applying for such post in the past. But the petitioner is labouring under the wrong impression that only if he is sponsored by the employment exchange, his name will be considered. It is not so. In any event, considering the age of the petitioner, no purpose will be served in issuing any direction. The writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
