O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to issue non-traceable certificate to the petitioner based on the petitioner's online complaint dated 06.03.2021 and the subsequent complaint dated 26.04.2020 within a stipulated time.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has purchased the property situated in S.Nos.21/10 and 21/12 in Vannankulam Village, Thirumangalam Taluk through a registered sale deed. When he wanted to sell the property, the original sale deed was found missing on 01.03.2021 in Tirunelveli. On that basis, the petitioner has given complaints. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the second respondent has neither taken steps to trace the sale deed nor to issue non-traceable certificate. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in respect of issuance of non-traceable certificate, a Circular has been issued by the Director General of Police to follow certain procedures. Therefore, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor seeks three months time to conclude the enquiry and act upon that. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the petitioner is directed to appear before the second respondent within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On appearance of the petitioner, the second respondent shall conduct the enquiry and pass orders on merits within a period of three months thereafter.

5. With the above directions, this petition is disposed of.
