Respondent in both petitions PRAYER: Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to extend the lease period for the petitioner's Shop No.220/1 (in respect of W.P.No.7616/15) & Shop No.19-I (in respect of W.P.No.7617/15) in the shopping complex at entrance of the Anna Bus Stand, Madakulam Main Road, Madurai with applicable revised rate to rent.
For Petitioners : Mr.V.Kannan (In both cases) For Respondent : Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, (In both cases) Government Advocate * * * * * COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to extend the lease period for the petitioners' Shop No.220/1 (in respect of W.P.No.7616/15) & Shop No.19-I (in respect of W.P.No.7617/15) in the shopping complex at entrance of the Anna Bus Stand, Madakulam Main Road, Madurai with applicable revised rent.

The case of the petitioners is that they were allotted two shops viz., Shop Nos.220/1 & 19-I respectively, in Madakulam Main Road, Madurai, in the public auction conducted by the respondent in the year 2006, and were given license by the respondent in his proceedings Ma.Va.2/30728/2006 dated 24.04.2006 in respect of Shop No.220/1 with a rent amount of Rs.1,650/- (Rupees one thousand six hundred and fifty only) and Ma.Va.8/9733/2006 dated 28.08.2006 in respect of Shop No.19-I with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
a rent amount of Rs.996/- (Rupees nine hundred and ninety six only). Thereafter, their respective shops were shifted to the entrance of the Anna Bus Stand, vide proceedings of the respondent dated 17.04.2008 and 28.08.2006 respectively. The grievance of the petitioners is that the respondent without extending the lease period to them, tried to conduct public auction in respect of some shops. Therefore, in order to extend the lease period for the above said shops, the petitioners are before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate for the respondent.

The learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are inclined to approach the authorities concerned seeking extension of lease for the shops in question. 5.Granting liberty as above, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
