ORDER

The petitioner is before this Court seeking a direction to the respondent to provide temporary electricity service connection vide application dated 03.03.2026 for the purpose of construction of a dwelling house in a vacant site.

2. The petitioner submitted an application seeking sanction of electricity service connection in vacant site bearing S.No.97/3. The said application was not processed by the respondent stating that already there is a dwelling house and therefore, temporary service connection cannot be provided since the construction of the dwelling house is illegal.

3. The learned Standing counsel for the respondent submitted that the petitioner is seeking a temporary electricity service connection to a dwelling house and the petitioner has not obtained completion certificate.

4. However, the petitioner contends that he intends to put up construction on a vacant land and therefore, he seeks for sanction of temporary electricity service connection.

5. In light of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to provide temporary service connection to the petitioner's vacant land in S.No.97/3 subject to the petitioner satisfying other eligibility criteria. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of three(3) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No Costs.
