Prayer : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned FIR Crime No. 144 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police and to quash the same as arbitrary and illegal as far as this petitioner is concerned.

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the proceedings in Crime No.144 of 2021, on the file of the respondent police, insofar as the petitioner is concerned. 1/4

2.Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent submits that after completion of the investigation, the final report has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Pattukottai on 03.06,2024. However, the learned Government Advocate claims that it has not been taken on file by the concerned Magistrate Court so far.

3.Since it is reported that the final report has been filed and it is yet to be taken on file, this Court is not inclined to quash the First Information Report at this stage. The respondent police shall ensure that the final report is taken on file within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is at liberty to challenge the final report, if he is having any ground. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.

4.With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
