The petitioner/A1 has filed this Criminal Original petition seeking a direction to the trial Court to dispose of CC No.10 of 2020, pending on its file within a stipulated time.

2. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondent and submits that the trial in CC No.10 of 2020 has already been commenced; summons have been issued to the witnesses; the case is posted on 20.06.2024 for examination of witnesses.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is aged about 71 years and he is suffering with some heart ailments. He further submits that the case is of the year 2020 and therefore, a direction may be issued to the trial Court to conclude the trial within a stipulated time.

4.Considering the rival submissions made on either side, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Sankarankovil to conclude the trial in CC No.10 of 2020, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
