PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.1111 of 2021 on the file of the Respondent Police.

ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/sole accused, who was arrested on 24.06.2021 for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aa) r/w.4(1-A) of TNP Act in Crime No.1111 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 24.06.2021 near new bus stand ata bout 9.00 hrs the respondent police found accused with white colour bag. On search they found the petitioner in possession of 55 litres of Pondicherry arrack. Hence the complaint. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that the petitioner is in judicial custody from 24.06.2021, hence he seek bail.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police opposed this petition on the ground that the investigation is not yet completed. He would further submit that https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

CRL OP(MD). No.9015 of 2021 seven similar previous cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner in Crime Nos.19 of 2020, 1717 of 2020,1771 of 2020, 1786 of 2020, 1814 of 2020 and 104 of 2021 on the file of the Kumbakonam West Police Station.

5. Considering the fact that the petitioner is in illegal possession of 55 litres of Pondicherry arrack and fact that the investigation not yet completed and also the fact that the petitioner has seven similar previous cases of similar nature, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
