O R D E R
[Order of the Court by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] This habeas corpus petition was virtually disposed of by order, dated 28.11.2016, by which a direction was given to the Superintendent of Police, Tirunelveli, to pay a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs only) as compensation under the Victim Compensation Fund provided under Section 357(A) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Further directions were given to the Government with regard to sanction of posts of Assistant Director, Scientific Officers and Junior Scientific Officers in addition to the existing posts and to provide other infrastructure facilities for each Forensic Lab at Chennai and the Regional Sciences Lab at Madurai.
2. The learned Additional Advocate General has produced a copy of the communication, dated 02.03.2017, from the Superintendent of Police, Tirunelveli District, to the effect that a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs only) has been paid to the father of the deceased detenue as victim compensation.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner also accepts the same.
4. In sofar as the other directions, with regard to sanction of posts and providing infrastructure facilities, are concerned, the learned Additional Advocate General, on instructions, would submit that the same will be complied with shortly.
