O R D E R

The prayer sought for in the Writ Petition is for a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to calculate the left out petitioner's increment as per the G.O.M.S.No.237 dated 22.07.2013 and give the monetary benefits within a stipulated time on the basis the petitioner's representation dated 11.04.2018.

2. Heard Mr.A.Rajaram, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Saravanan, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a retired Sub Inspector of Police and he retired from service on 31.07.2013. He has completed a total service of 36 years. During his service, his increment was not properly given. Thereafter, the Government issued G.O.Ms.No.237 dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

22.07.2013 of Finance(Pay Cell) Department, pursuant to which, the petitioner is entitled to get increment and arrears of pay. Though such a Government order was passed, the arrears of the pay and pensionary benefits have not been disbursed so far. Therefore, in order to get the same, the petitioner has given a representation dated 11.04.2018 to the respondents and if the said representation is considered by the respondents, especially, the second respondent, the petitioner would be satisfied.

I have heard Mr.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, who would submit that, the said representation dated 11.04.2018 would be considered on merits and in accordance with law and an order to that effect would be passed within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the limited scope of the writ petition, this Court is inclined to pass the following order:- "that the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.04.2018 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders thereon, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
