PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to direct the respondents 2 and 3 for issuance of notification in the official gazette to limit the number of contract carriages generally or of any specified type and auto rickshaw operating in city route in Madurai Town under Section 74(3)(a) of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2020 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the respondents have initiated action to redress the grievance of the petitioner by limiting the number of contract carriages generally or of any specified type and auto rickshaw operating in city route in Madurai Town under Section 74(3)(a) of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.

2.In view of the said submission, since action has already been initiated by the competent authorities, the respondents shall ensure that all actions initiated are completed as expeditiously as possible.
