Respondents PRAYER:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 22.02.2026 regarding registration of the name of his second wife S. Kalaiselvi daughter of Late Muthualagupillai as nominee to get the family pension after his death and necessary entries in his PPO No. C335814/VOA dated 08.12.2008 may kindly be entered and thus help his second wife S. Kalaiselvi, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.B.Ramadhan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.
2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The petitioner herein was working as the Village Administrative Officer at Sirugudi Village, Sivagangai District and he had retired from service on 31.12.2008 on attaining the age of superannuation vide the proceedings bearing RC.No.A2/8325/08, dated 31.12.2008 and had received pension vide PPO.No.C335814/ VOA dated 08.12.2008. By the date of his retirement, the name of his first wife Tmt. Mariyammal alias Sharada was registered as nominee. However, subsequently the said Mariyammal expired on 05.04.2013 and thereafter the petitioner claims to have married Tmt.S.Kalai Selvi, D/o (Late) Muthualagupillai and claims to have submitted a request for including her name as his nominee for receipt of family pension by submitting a representation dated 22.02.2026 before the respondents. However, no action appears to have been taken on the said 2/5
representation. Therefore, the petitioner approached this Court by filing the present writ petition. The petitioner enclosed a copy of the marriage certificate dated 30.01.2026 certifying the marriage between the petitioner and Kalaiselvi.
4. Mr.B.Ramanathan, learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that in case, the said representation is still pending with the first respondent, the same would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed.

In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of at admission stage directing the first respondent to consider the representation dated 22.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner through registered post and pass appropriate orders as expeditously as possible at any rate within a period of six weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
