Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of Habeas Corpus to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to secure and produce the person or body of the detenu, 'the petitioner's daughter' Ranjitha aged 23 years, D/o.Baskaran, before this Court and set her at liberty. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.) The petitioner is the father of one Ranjitha, aged 23 years. Ranjitha is a Graduate in Information Technology. According to the petitioner, Ms.Ranjitha has been found missing. Therefore, he has come up with this petition.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the 2nd respondent has produced the detenue, namely, Ranjitha. She told us that she is 23 years old and on her own accord, that too after informing the petitioner, she went out of her parental home and married the 3rd respondent on 15.09.2016. From 15.09.2016 onwards, according to her, she has been living happily with the 3rd respondent. The third respondent also made appearance and he also admitted the marriage. The petitioner wanted to speak to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

detenue. His wife also made her appearance. We allowed them. But the detenue is not prepared to speak to them.

3. In such view of the matter, we find, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the petition pending. Accordingly this petition is dismissed by giving liberty to the detenue to choose her own way of life.
